When a fighter chooses you to be in his corner at his fight, I believe that is the greatest honor he could bestow on you. That means he trusts you to make good decisions,
If you are considering being a professional fighter and doing this for a living, I am here to tell you that its not easy. Matter of fact is it is extremely difficult. Most professional athletes that are in major sports such as football, basketball, or baseball get million dollar signing bonuses, lengthy contracts and sponsor packets in the millions.
I've been asked why I chose the red shirts for our fight color. I have always told those people, “Red is for blood!” But I gotta be honest, I had purchased black, white and red vision shirts. No one bought the red shirts! Everyone bought the black and whites ones. I couldn't sell those red ones to save my life. I had to do something with them so I decided to make them our fight team shirts. Now I can't keep the red ones in stock because everyone wants them.
To tell you the truth, I am so glad I switched because on fight night, those red shirts stand out on our team and in the stands. Other guys from other teams always tell me when they see that sea of red they know VISION is in the house.
Its hard to believe we started Vision MMA only 3 years ago. It is so exciting to see all the accomplishments that this team has achieved in such a short amount of time. Our team has maintained an 84%winning percentage at the pro and amateur level. It is a lot easier to achieve that kind of percentage when you have few guys fighting, but as your numbers grow, it gets harder to stay at that mark. We had 3 of our fighters compete internationally over the past year. The 3 biggest organizations in the country right now are the UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator. We put one guy on The Ultimate Fighter, 2 guys have competed in Strikeforce and 1 just got into the Bellator tournament. Currently 4 of our fighters are ranked in the top 100 in the world. It is amazing to see this team starting to blossom into one of the most competitive teams in the Midwest.
I have set goals every year since we have been open. At the gym we write them down and talk about them because it keeps me on track. In 2 more years I am looking forward to not only being one of the best teams in the Midwest, but one of the most respected teams in the country. I want us to be compared to Team Quest, Extreme Couture, ATT or Greg Jackson's school. I would also like 5 of our fighters to be in the top 20 in the world. But most importantly, keep our very close knit group, which at the end of the day that is the absolutely most important thing.
These are huge goals for our entire team, but I believe great things happen if in your heart you believe. I BELIEVE IN WHAT I AM DOING, I BELIEVE WHAT I AM SAYING AND MOST IMPORTANTLY I BELIEVE IN MY TEAM!

We dance to a beat with a flame fueled by passion; as intensity flares, determination rises and no one is asking. "Why do we do what we do? Because how we do it, it's done so well." We tap dance like a broadway show, instead of lyrics we spit beats and never lose our flow. Whether be the submission, K.O., no show or decision, boxing and mma, we are......Team Vision.
